On 6th December, the female and male Swimming Championships were held at the swimming pool of the Maritime University. The competitors were students from our University who swam at the distance of 50 m in freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly as well as a 4 x 50 m freestyle relay race.

In the period 25-27 October, an international conference of Konsberg Maritime A.S. simulator users was held in Athens. The main theme of the meeting was “The Role of Human Factors in Simulation and Training”.

Students from a school complex near Kiev visited Szczecin again this year. In the summer, they had a sightseeing tour of the West Pomerania Province capital and its surrounding areas and, this time, they came to find out about the educational offer of Szczecin as an academic centre.

In the period 24-25 November, Student Transport and Logistic Symposium "SeaPoint" 2016 was held for the 10th time at the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering. This year the subject was railway transport of passengers and cargo.

At the end of October, the 70th anniversary meeting of the IMO's Marine Environment Committee - MEPC was held in London. The findings of this assembly are of key importance for creation of such regulations of the world maritime economy and transport sector that make it as effective and ecological as possible.

A trip of the “METIRI” Scientific Association of Geodesy and Cartography to the palace in Siemczyno

In the period 4-6 November 2016, members of our "Metitri" Scientific Association together with their supervisor, Grzegorz Stępień, PhD, had the pleasure of visiting the historical Palace in Siemczyno (Drawskie Lake District) to conduct measurements thanks to the invitation from Mr Bogdan Andziak - the owner of the facility and Vice-President of the Henry's Association in Siemczyno.
