On All Saints' Day, like every year, crowds visited the Central Cemetery in Szczecin. In spite of the pouring rain, many people stopped for a moment at the Monument in memory of those who were lost at sea.
From 11:30 to 12:30, members of the honour guard of the Maritime University of Szczecin stood watch in front of the monument. The ceremonial watch turnover took place at noon.
Szczecin Master Mariners Club with active participation of students and representatives of MUS were collecting donations during the ceremony, as they do every year. Funds were raised by students as well as the Vice Rector for Teaching, Agnieszka Deja, PhD, Eng. In total, we managed to raise almost 10 thousand zlotys. The money will be spent on renovation of the monument.
