Leeches from the Maritime University of Szczecin

Over 50 people participated in the inauguration of the "Academic Leeches" event initiated by students of the Maritime University of Szczecin. On the first day of the action, 13th March, out of 150 people donating blood in the Regional Blood Donation and Blood Treatment Centre in Szczecin, one third were the participants of "The Leeches".

MEDICAL AND MARINE CONSORTIUM TO INVEST IN NEW TECHNOLOGIES

Almost 2.5 million zlotys is the budget of the project obtained by the consortium of the Technology Transfer Centre of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (CTT PUM) and the Innovation Centre of the Maritime University of Szczecin (CIAM) as support for scientific research and development work, in particular within the scope of commercialisation of their results. The funds will come from the "Innovation-Based Incubator+" programme implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

New simulator at the Maritime University of Szczecin

The Institute of Marine Traffic Engineering of the Maritime University of Szczecin has acquired a new simulator. Polaris 7.5 - the latest equipment of Kongsberg - enables professional navigation and radar trainings for both navigation students and navigators who want to improve their qualifications. It is the most modern navigation simulator of this type in Poland.

The Maritime University in IMO

In the period from 29th January to 4th February, the 4th meeting of the Sub-Committee of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW) was held in London. A representative of the Polish delegation in the work of this Sub-Committee was the Director of the Institute of  Marine Technologies, Professor Janusz Uriasz.

The Centre for Innovation of the Maritime University is the operator of the the Analysis Centre for Fuels again

We have the pleasure to announce that, as a result of the public procurement procedure for a business operator of "the Analysis Centre for Fuels, Working Fluids and Environmental Protection" (built thanks to the resources from the European Regional Development Fund as a part of the Regional Operational Programme of the West Pomerania Province for the years 2007 - 2013), our Centre was selected the Operator of the above mentioned facility.

Remembering the maritime disaster

On 14th January, it's been 24 years since the greatest maritime disaster in post-war history of the Polish commercial fleet - the sinking of "Jan Heweliusz" ferry. On 13th January, the victims of the disaster were commemorated in the Central Cemetery in Szczecin.
