The Maritime University of Szczecin in cooperation with the West Pomerania Teacher Training Centre invited upper secondary school students to take part in the 10th anniversary Geography and Nautology Competition.

The golden diploma, the first place in mixed choir category and ecstatic opinions of the jury - these are the laurels brought by the Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin conducted by Sylwia Fabiańczyk-Makuch from the international choir competition in St. Petersburg.

We're pleased to inform that the offer of the Marine Officers' Training Centre of the Maritime University of Szczecin will soon include a new training - within the scope of manoeuvring large vessels and vessels with atypical manoeuvre characteristics.

The Polish Academic Rowing Machine Championships were held on 1st April in Poznań.

On 28th March, we selected the best MUS badminton players. Employees and students of our university took part in the tournament held in the sports hall in Wały Chrobrego.

On Thursday, 23rd March, we signed a cooperation agreement as a part of the Lake of Mysteries - an action initiated and carried out in the Drawski District.

Secondary School students in Czaplinek, Kalisz Pomorski and Szczecin may use the knowledge and experience of our academic staff. All this is to raise curiosity, share knowledge and impart the skills extending standard school curriculum.

Over 50 people participated in the inauguration of the "Academic Leeches" event initiated by students of the Maritime University of Szczecin. On the first day of the action, 13th March, out of 150 people donating blood in the Regional Blood Donation and Blood Treatment Centre in Szczecin, one third were the participants of "The Leeches".

The 11th edition of the ESA/JRC International Summer School on GNSS 2017 will be held in Longyearbyen, Svalbard-Spitsbergen, Norway, from 4th to 15th September 2017, close to the world's northernmost Galileo station.

Almost 2.5 million zlotys is the budget of the project obtained by the consortium of the Technology Transfer Centre of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (CTT PUM) and the Innovation Centre of the Maritime University of Szczecin (CIAM) as support for scientific research and development work, in particular within the scope of commercialisation of their results. The funds will come from the "Innovation-Based Incubator+" programme implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The Institute of Marine Traffic Engineering of the Maritime University of Szczecin has acquired a new simulator. Polaris 7.5 - the latest equipment of Kongsberg - enables professional navigation and radar trainings for both navigation students and navigators who want to improve their qualifications. It is the most modern navigation simulator of this type in Poland.

In the period from 29th January to 4th February, the 4th meeting of the Sub-Committee of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW) was held in London. A representative of the Polish delegation in the work of this Sub-Committee was the Director of the Institute of  Marine Technologies, Professor Janusz Uriasz.
