The golden diploma, the first place in mixed choir category and ecstatic opinions of the jury - these are the laurels brought by the Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin conducted by Sylwia Fabiańczyk-Makuch from the international choir competition in St. Petersburg.

The festival taking place in the period 01-02.04.2017 was attended by 35 choirs - including e.g. ensembles from Estonia, Belarus, Poland and Russia. The choristers of the Maritime University together with the Moscow “Joy” choir received the highest amount of points from among all festival choirs.

The jury appreciated most the perfect intonation, the interesting interpretation, the unique emotions on the stage as well as the exceptional contact of the conductor with the ensemble. The competition auditions were held in the Capella hall considered to be one of the most representative concert halls in Petersburg. The ensemble from Szczecin had its première performance of e.g. “The Water Song” - composed especially for the Choir of the Maritime University by Bartosz Kowalski. While staying in the cultural capital of Russia, the choristers gave concerts e.g. in the original scenery of St. Ann’s Church.
