The Polish Academic Rowing Machine Championships were held on 1st April in Poznań.

574 competitors from 50 universities took part in the event.

A huge, individual success was achieved by Jan Kucera, who won the silver medal in the open male category, setting up the record of the Maritime University of Szczecin 02:50.2 at the distance of 1000m. He was only beaten by Michał Szpakowski from the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz, who took the 5th place in the rowing eight at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Also, our male and female crews returned with medals. The women won the bronze medal in the team classification of social and natural science universities, while the men stood on the second step of the podium in the same classification.

Individually, in the category of our university, Jan Kuczera won the gold medal and Krzysztof Dziubek the bronze one in lightweight.

We’ve been waiting for the female success for many years, so our joy is even greater.

With huge expectations and determination for further work, we’re now exchanging the machines into oars and begin the rowing competition cycle in a good shape.
