The organiser of the Forum was Nobilis MEDIA and the patronage over the event was taken by: the Vice Minister of National Defence Bartosz Kownacki, the Chairman of the National Defence Committee of the Polish Parliament Lower Chamber Michał Jach and the National Security Bureau in cooperation with the Multinational Corps Northeast. The Faculty of Navigation was represented in the Forum a staff member of the Institute of Geoinformatics, Grzegorz Stępień, PhD, Eng.

The subject matter of the Forum concerned mainly military solutions as well as the possibility of cooperation of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) in production of Polish drones. According to the presented prospect for development of unmanned systems, their production on the highest world level is already possible as a part of PGZ. This, however, requires undertaking extensive cooperation inside the Group as well as adopting a proper strategy for development and implementation of these systems in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.

Further during the Forum, prospects were presented for development of marine drones, which are currently used mainly for inspections of ports and vessels. Huge interest was evoked by an idea of unmanned marine transport presented by JPP Marine, according to which marine transport will completely disappear in the nearest several decades.

According to the company’s experts, the changes are unavoidable and introduction of unmanned marine vessels into serial production is only a matter of time. In the discussion, the concept was called into question and it was concluded that education of officers will not disappear, but rather undergo transformation. Many experts shared the opinion that, as in the case of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, also in the marine sector, such vessels will not replace manned vessels, but will only support them.
