Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture and Maritime University of Szczecin

Due to the initiative of the Department of the West Pomeranian Regional Development Agency and the Modernization of Agriculture in Szczecin, Mr. Jarosław Łojko, a delegation of AiRMA with its president, Mr Tomasz Kołodziej, visited Model Research Station in Ińsk and the Baltic Fisheries Training Centre in Kolobrzeg on 27 and 28 June 2012.

On 2-6.07.2012 in London took place the 58th session of the Subcommittee on Navigation Safety (NAV) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The session was attended by the Polish delegation consisting of the Navigational Faculty staff members: Professor Zbigniew Pietrzykowski and Witold Kazimierski, PhD, where they presented NAVDEC, an innovative navigation system for decision support on a seagoing vessel, developed at the Maritime University of Szczecin.

June 14 2012, in the hall of the Senate an agreement between the Maritime University of Szczecin and the Danish concern - KK-Electronic Poland was signed due to which we can begin to formally support the conduct of the university educational process according to the needs of the labor market by organizing internships and traineeships for students. World Hydrography Day

The Chair of Geoinformatics on behalf of the Navy Hydrographic Office, Maritime Office in Szczecin, Szczecin City Hall and the Association of Polish Maritime hydrographers is pleased to invite to the World Hydrography Day, which will be held on 23-24 June 2012 at Wały Chrobrego.During the World Hydrography Day Maritime University unit - Hydrograph XXI and its equipment, inter alia, hydrographic sonar probe will be presented. The program framework for the national celebration of World Hydrography Day is attached below .

Rowing Launches Regatta at the Maritime University

Traditionally, each academic year at the end of the summer semester Maritime University organizes a sporting event named "Szalupiada" with ‘DZ’ type boat races on the Oder River. This year the event took place on 2 June, at the Maritime Rescue Training Centre at ul.Ludowa.

The International Maritime Days in Gothenburg

Between 21 - 25 May 2012, in Goteborg International Maritime Days were held. The ceremony involved staff and students of the Maritime University of Szczecin - Vice-Rector for Education, Przemysław Rajewski, PhD and Vice Rector -elect, Piotr Treichel and fifteen students of Mechanical Engineering and Navigational Faculties. The representatives of our university sailed to Sweden on board Fryderyk Chopin. They are involved in numerous panel discussions

The AprilFree Fall Lifeboat course conducted by a new lecturer in OSRM

On the27/04/2012 Free Fall Lifeboat course attended by a group of four students was held in OSRM. The first part of the course consisted of theoretical issues, followed by a short break forstudents to get a hot meal, after which they participated in the lifeboats free fall from a 10 meter talltower. Students were equipped with helmets, life jackets and protective clothing. It is worth mentioning that the course was conducted by a new tutor - Marzena Górtowska from the Maritime Rescue Training Center.
