From 30-31.08.2012, in Hamburg, International Conference on Information Ships ISIS 2011 was held. The conference was organized by the German Institute of Navigation (DGON) and attended by 75 representatives of research centers, universities, government and industry maritime shipping industry of the IT industry sector around the world.
The main topics of the conference were the issues of obtaining, processing, management and sharing of information in information systems on ships and land-based facilities in the aspects of safety and security of shipping (safety and security). The conference was attended by Profesor Zbigniew Pietrzykowski , an employee of the Department of Navigation, Maritime University of Szczecin, who presented a paper ‘Marine Navigational Decision Support System’, which the participants showed great interest i.
The conference enabled a broad exchange of experience, development trends and prospects in the use of IT and ICT in shipping.
