The beginning of Candidates courses at the Marine Rescue Training Centre.
On 26th of September started the candidates courses at the Marine Rescue Training Centre. The courses will last one month and are destined for the future students of Maritime University. Almost 500 students both from the Navigation and Marine Engineering Faculties will be trained during Personal Survival Techniques, Basic Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid and Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities courses.

During the rush of Candidates courses, the Marine Rescue Training Centre organized the Free Fall Lifeboat Coxswain course for Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement employees. This course has been organized at MRTC regularly for few years.

Maritime University has been listed among those recommended to sign the Grant Agreement in ACTION 3.1 INFRASTRUCTURE OF INFORMATION SOCIETY under the European Regional Development Fund with the highest amount of funding of all Szczecin universities.

Choir of the Szczecin Maritime University won the Golden Diploma
The festival, taking place in Międzyzdroje from June 26 to July 1, hosted Polish and foreign choirs. The choir’s repertoire included marine, folk and sacred songs.
The Maritime University of Szczecin is a co-organizer of the conference “Marine Mining as a chance for raw materials for future generations.”
Faced with the need to guarantee the supply of raw materials providing the mankind’s sustainable development, there appears a need for common actions of the world of science and industry in the field of marine mining which is a new line of research that requires the connection of knowledge and experience in the field of mining, as well as navigation, traffic and safety procedures at sea.

Last week from 30.06 - 01.07.2011, at the Maritime University of Szczecin, ul. Szczerbcowa 4, the fifth edition of the International Scientific Conference "Inland Shipping 2011" was held.
Our sailors have won the qualifiers of the Polish Cabin Yacht Cup
On 2-3 July 2011 in Kosewo, took place a Regatta "The summer holiday greeting", the Slupsk Governor Cup which is a series of the Polish Cabin Yacht Cup, won by the crew of AZS Szczecin MUS who also won the entire regatta not giving rivals the first place even once and collecting the set of ‘ones’.

During the Days of the Sea, which took place on 10-12.06.2011 Szczecin Maritime Academy organized Open Doors, which presented our comprehensive educational base. The visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the educational offer of three MUS faculties, both in the main building at the Maritime University, as well as directly in the open air, in the exhibition tent of Academic Szczecin, which was situated at the foot of Waly Chrobrego.

Join an international conference
As a part of Poland's EU Presidency, the Ministry of Transport is looking for candidates - students or graduates of the Maritime University of Szczecin for assistance in organizing the meeting entitled "Green corridors - for a multimodal and sustainable transport system", which will be held on 21-22 September 2011, at the Hall of Structural Opera at the Pomeranian Princes’ Castle at Energetykow Str. in Szczecin (opposite the Euro-Afrika premises).
Praktyka morska studentów Akademii Morskiej w Szczecinie na rosyjskim żaglowcu szkolnym “Kruzenshtern”
Na podstawie umowy podpisanej w maju br. pomiędzy Akademią Morską w Szczecinie a Państwową Bałtycką Akademią Floty Rybackiej w Kaliningradzie w okresie od 13 czerwca do 1 lipca 2011r. odbyła się wymiana 10–cio osobowych grup studenckich obu uczelni.
Second Prize at the 30th Jubilee Seminar of Scientific Circles at Warsaw MUT/WAT
On May 11-13, 2011 at the Military University of Technology in Warsaw, the 30th Jubilee Seminar of Scientific Circles of Engineers and Mechanics was held. The seminar was attended by students, PhD students and young researchers from 10 universities of four different countries who gave 47 presentations.
Qatargas visiting MUS
On 15.06 a delegation of Qatargas, a company supplying liquefied gas to Poland through the newly built terminal in Swinoujscie, visited MUS. The meeting was also attended by representatives of companies involved in the construction of the LNG terminal - PLNG SA, PGNiG SA and Gaz System SA The purpose of the visit was to identify opportunities for cooperation in conducting research concerning traffic of Q-Flex gas tankers entering the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie.
