Qatargas visiting MUS

On 15.06 a delegation of Qatargas, a company supplying liquefied gas to Poland through the newly built terminal in Swinoujscie, visited MUS. The meeting was also attended by representatives of companies involved in the construction of the LNG terminal - PLNG SA, PGNiG SA and Gaz System SA The purpose of the visit was to identify opportunities for cooperation in conducting research concerning traffic of Q-Flex gas tankers entering the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie.

Signing a contract for financing the construction of the Baltic Fisheries Training Centre in Kolobrzeg.

April 15, 2011, the Maritime University of Szczecin and the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture have signed a contract for the project entitled "Launching the Baltic Fisheries Training Centre in Kolobrzeg as a modern training tool." Project implemented by the University is co-financed by the European Union under the European Fisheries Fund.

Człowiek żeglujący od najdawniejszych czasów po morzach i oceanach był bezradny wobec groźnych sił przyrody. Uzależniony od zjawisk żywiołu poddawał się łatwo magii zjawisk nadprzyrodzonych. Wywierały one duży wpływ na mentalność ówczesnych ludzi morza – ludzi przeważnie niewykształconych, prostych, często naiwnych.

Appeal at the feet of the monument “To those who have not returned from the sea ...”

In celebration of the Sea Days - Szczecin Sail 2011 on Friday 10 June at 19:00 at the Central Cemetery under the monument "To those who have not returned from the sea ..."will be held solemn call and laying flowers. On the 30.05.-04.06.2011 the Marine Rescue Training Centre organized the next edition of a free Motorboat Skipper Course financed due to the European Union project ‘Cała naprzód’/ ’Full astern’.

Advanced Fire Fighting Course for students of Maritime University at MRTC

On 30.05.-02.06.2011 the Marine Rescue Training Centre hosted a group of 40 students of the Maritime University of Szczecin. The students, encouraged by a big discount for organized groups at the courses by MRTC, decided to take part in an Advanced Fire Fighting Training. The participants were extinguishing small and big fires, had practical drills, both at fire fighting field and in a smoke chamber wearing breathing apparatuses. They also took part in a simulation of fire fighting on board.

This year's series of Polish Yachting Cup competition began the Cup in Koronowo (Koronowski Lagoon18 km from Bydgoszcz) - the crew representing the Maritime University won the third place/ class T1.

Third place at the 42nd Nationwide Choir Competition in Legnica ‘Legnica Cantat’!

The Maritime University Choir conducted by Sylvia Fabiańczyk-Makuch won the third place at the 42nd Nationwide Choir Competition in Legnica ‘Legnica Cantat’! On 28 May, this year in Legnica the 42nd National Choirs Tournament "Legnica Cantat" took place. It is the most important and highest-ranking of this type of festivals in Poland. To qualify for the festival is a great honor. Based on the submitted CD and DVD recordings, the Festival Artistic Council has selected twelve of the more than twenty reported choirs.

April 15, 2011, the Maritime University of Szczecin and the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture have signed a grant agreement for the project entitled. "Reducing fuel consumption and the toxicity of exhaust gases of fishing boats engines’. Project implemented by the University is co-financed by the European Union under the European Fisheries Fund. The Project manager and its author is Professor Oleh Klyus.
