The latest trends and the cooperation between science and business - these are two issues, which perfectly describe the relationship with our new partner - Windhunter Academy.
On 16 November in the Hall of Tradition at the Maritime University in Szczecin we signed another, in recent weeks, framework cooperation agreement with another industrial leader - Windhunter Academy.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the MUS by the Rector, Wojciech Ślączka, PhD. Eng., Master Mariner, MUS Professor, and on behalf of the Windhunter Academy by Rafał Kramek, the President of the Board of the company. The results of our cooperation include an international competition for students of all grades and - what is crucially important - a new course of study on offshore wind energy.
What will be the next step?
We work together on new projects and their implementation ensuring they suit best to actual market demands.- An important element of our cooperation will be organising and conducting trainings for the wind energy industry, in particular those conducted in accordance with Global Wind Organisation and OPITO standards - said the Rector during the meeting.
- We would like to thank the Maritime University of Szczecin for the willingness to cooperate and for trust- said Rafał Kramek.
- For us, this is an important step in the development of our business, we are looking forward to joint projects - he added.
New laboratory
One of the upcoming joint projects is the establishment of a wind power laboratory, which will significantly enrich the offer of the university's new course of study - Industrial Engineering and Offshore Wind Farms at the Faculty of Marine Engineering.- A real-size turbine will be installed at the MUS Faculty of Marine Engineering, Willowa Street - informs Artur Bejger, PhD Eng., MUS Professor and Vice-Rector for Science at the Maritime University of Szczecin.
- This is where the training of personnel for the wind energy industry will take place in the near future - he adds. At the same time, he predicts that graduates of the new course will be 100% sure to find a job right after graduation.
- The wind energy industry is expanding rapidly and together with the Maritime University of Szczecin we will provide a training programme to meet the job market demand for employees - explains Karolina Jastrzębska, Managing Director in Windhunter Academy.
Bright future ahead
Keeping up with modern world trends, MUS has been developing research and training courses on renewable energy issues for years, including offshore wind energy issues. Our development is based largely on the experience of the commercial market and cooperation with companies - and this time we have established cooperation with partners who support the science development with their knowledge and experience. And we, as the University can offer in return - research facilities, joint projects and graduates, who will join the professional staff market in the near future.
