The Maritime University of Szczecin has signed an agreement on cooperation with the Technical University of Varna. The profile of educating engineers in the Bulgarian university will enable undertaking joint activities both among scientific staff and students.
The understanding signed on 16th April provides for undertaking and supporting of educational, scientific and technical exchange. The universities are not only planning to exchange students (e.g. as a part of the Erasmus+ programme) as well as lecturers and scientists (with a view to doing an internship or conducting classes), but also to cooperate within the scope of joint scientific and research projects in the area of mechatronics. Moreover, working groups will be established to design and build a training ship.
In the future, the academic staff will be able to participate in defence of doctoral theses. It will also be possible to prepare the scope of joint classes for studies of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycle and develop procedures for launching the 2nd cycle double-diploma programme.
The agreement was signed by the Rector of the Maritime University of Szczecin, Prof. DSc. PhD. Eng. Master Mariner Stanisław Gucma and the Rector of the Technical University of Varna, Prof. Owid Farchi.
