On 11/05/2016 our University was visited by a two-person delegation of the representatives of the Ports Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia composed of engineer Mohammed Al Jandoul and captain Jamal Farhat Al Ghamdi. The visit was a part of the session of the 3rd Polish-Saudi Committee for Bilateral Cooperation. The Maritime University of Szczecin was recommended by the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation as an important point of the study visit of a maritime economy working group.
The guests met the Vice-Rectors for Science and Maritime Affairs to discuss our educational offer and the possibilities for cooperation. Other points of the visit included simulators and laboratories at the Faculty of Navigation and the Faculty of Marine Engineering. The Saudis expressed their interest in specific vocational courses and a detailed offer is now being prepared for them within this scope.
Except for our University, the guests also visited the port and the LNG terminal in Świnoujście, the Gryfia Shipyard as well as participated in a range of meetings with the Szczecin - Świnoujście Port Authority.
The Saudi Arabia representatives were very enthusiastic about the possibility of cooperation with maritime economy institutions from Szczecin and the region so there is a real chance that our University will obtain a new partner.
