The official inauguration of a computer virtual laboratory based on Terminal Services was held on 11 April at the Maritime University of Szczecin.
The laboratory was established in connection with starting the field of study Informatics, the project co-financed by the European Social Fund. The ceremonial start, made ​​by the Rector of the Maritime University Prof. Stanislaw Gucma, aroused great media interest.

The laboratory is a new generation of technological infrastructure of universities. Its functionality can be used both for teaching and research. The laboratory will provide all registered users remote access to resources, high-performance applications installed on the server. Both students and staff can use Virtual PC together with advanced applications and finding it anywhere in the world. You need only a terminal or personal computer and Internet access. All operations take place on the university computing server. At the moment, the laboratory is used for a new field of study - Computers, which was created at the Maritime University in the current academic year. In the nearest future the computing power of the virtual laboratory will extend, which will enable the remote start of navigation simulators.
