A year after the project "Construction of LNG Terminal Simulation Centre and Cargo Simulator for the ship carriage of liquid cargo in the Maritime University of Szczecin" made by the Vice Rector for Maritime Affairs Prof. Wojciech Ślączka, Master Mariner under the Regional Operational Program for the West Pomeranian Province for 2007-2013, Priority 7, Measure 7.1.1 Action 7.1.1 "Educational infrastructure - higher education," Simulation Center LNG project pursues the main objective of developing both maritime and onshore human resources with unique qualifications in line with the needs of maritime economy.

Currently the Center for LNG simulations conducts classes for second year students specializing in maritime transport. The main issue of the classes is the operation of oil tankers and gas carriers and shipping. During the course students will learn all the operational processes that occur during loading and unloading of tankers. Their task is to plan the loading, transport and unloading of cargo under specific conditions and in accordance with the rules of the terminals and ships carrying liquid cargo. Due to the simulator, students learn about the shipborne systems and particularly those concerning cargo handling devices and procedures.

At the same time for maintaining high quality training and the level of modernity in line with market trends in shipment of liquid cargo, the simulator software is regularly updated and improved. The MUS staff conducting classes in the simulator, are involved in training in order to increase their teaching skills for a more uniform transmission of information in accordance with the requirements of IMO model courses.

Currently the Center is working to develop new scenarios for exercises in the field of LNG, VLCC and other types of vessels for the carriage of liquid and liquefied gas.
