In the period 5-8 June, the Polish Academic Sailing Championships were held in Wilkasy.
The Maritime University of Szczecin had the following results:
Places
- the 11th place out of 71 teams was taken by the crew of Patryk Urba, Jan Olkiewicz, Filip Woźniak, the classification of helmsmen at social and natural science universities - the 4th place out of 11.
- the 29th place out of 71 teams was taken by the crew of Tymoteusz Zaleski, Adrian Korneluk, Łukasz Kisielewicz, the classification of helmsmen at social and natural science universities - the 8th place out of 11.
As a team, the Maritime University took the 9th place in the general classification out of 35 participants and the 3rd place in the classification of social and natural science universities. Our congratulations on the bronze medal! So much of the theory and how was it in practice? Well, only 4 out of 9 planned final races were held. This shows that the organisers had to fight with the changing wind in Masuria again.
The equipment worked without failure and we did our job without any serious errors (the crew of Patryk won 1 out of 4 final races, whereas the crew of Tymoteusz was the golden début one). So, what was missing? That was what about 95% of sportsmen lack to be lucky.
The Maritime University has a stable location among the leaders, again. Already on Saturday, the 16th June, we will meet you in Wały Chrobrego, where you will be able to see us in action. Our ladies were also busy. At the second weekend of June, we traditionally had the Female Dąbie Lake Bouquet Regatta with no surprises - the title was defended. Our university was represented by Ania Rzęsikowska at the helm, Karolina Jermak and Małgorzata Popławska. Good job ladies!
Greetings from Filip Woźniak – the coach of the sailing section.
