Faced with the need to guarantee the supply of raw materials providing the mankind’s sustainable development, there appears a need for common actions of the world of science and industry in the field of marine mining which is a new line of research that requires the connection of knowledge and experience in the field of mining, as well as navigation, traffic and safety procedures at sea.
Modern technological solutions and aspects of the economics of sourcing raw materials from the bottom of the seas and oceans.
The 1st International Conference “Marine mining of raw materials as a chance for future generations”, held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Polish Economy, Waldemar Pawlak, is the first step to achieving these objectives. It will be a unique opportunity to start a solid education, research and familiarization concerning the issues of marine mining to prepare future generations for the use of bed mineral resources of the seas and oceans.
