The Maritime University in Szczecin and Kongsberg Maritime Poland Ltd. signed a framework agreement regulating the terms of cooperation in research, education, and human resources.
The meeting between representatives of Kongsberg Maritime Poland - Vice President Radosław Sochanowski and Company Attorney Michał Kraczewski, with the university authorities – the Rector of the Maritime University Wojciech Ślączka and the Deans of all the faculties, was held on 29 March 2018 in the MUS Tradition Hall.
Our joint activities are a response to the educational and scientific mission of the University, the social responsibility of the Company, and, above all, the currently promoted tendency of the permeating worlds of science and business. They will enable us to work out solutions to benefit a broadly understood maritime industry.
- The planned joint activities will enable e.g. effective application for the research and development funds - said Rector Wojciech Ślączka.
The effects of this cooperation will be felt by students, who will be able to have their apprenticeship and work placement in Kongsberg as well as count on cooperation on their diploma and master’s degree dissertations. Also, the cooperation of the university scientists with the Company representatives will enable them to develop and implement new projects as well as agree and create the subjects of research and development works.
- Already today, many employees of the Polish branch of Kongsberg are graduates of the Maritime University of Szczecin and, thus, we know that they have both theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for work - emphasised President Sochanowski.
