The Maritime University of Szczecin received a certificate confirming the legality of software used on more than a thousand available at the University computers and servers.
The Maritime University has undergone an audit to verify the legality of the used software. As a result of the audit there have been implemented procedures of the university computer software management in accordance with the principles of licensing under the existing law in Poland and the framework and guidelines applicable in Community law. The University staff have been trained in issues involving the subject matter of copyright, the security operation on the Internet, protection of intellectual property and personal property in the virtual space using modern technologies and the legality of software used. There have been examined a total of more than 1,000 facilities and trained about 600 employees.
Thus, the university joined the elite group for whom the protection and respect of copyright is one of the most important aspects of its business and is the first such institution in our region!
Presentation of certificate of legality of software to the Rector of the Maritime University was held on June 2 (Thursday), 2011. The certificate was handed in by a representative of Fuego, one of the best known companies in the IT consulting and software legality in our country.
