On 26th of September started the candidates courses at the Marine Rescue Training Centre. The courses will last one month and are destined for the future students of Maritime University. Almost 500 students both from the Navigation and Marine Engineering Faculties will be trained during Personal Survival Techniques, Basic Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid and Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities courses.
The completion of the courses allow to get seaman’s book. Except the theoretical knowledge, students will take part in practical exercises which include evacuation methods from ship, fire extinguishing or resuscitation techniques. The candidates courses deliver mariners not only an essential knowledge about life at sea, but are also a great opportunity for the students to get to know other people with whom they will study during next few years at the Maritime University.
