On 17/12/2013 at 15:30-18:30, in the Senate Hall of the Maritime University of Szczecin was held the 1st Open Meeting of Scientific Clubs (1st OSKN) organized by the scientific student innovator group 'Ordo ex Chao'.

The meeting was attended by 36 people, including representatives of the Student Clubs of our university as well as delegations of students from the West Pomeranian University of Technology (ZUT) and the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin (PUM).

Apart from the students, the meeting was attended by academic teachers/guardians of scientific clubs: Prof. Janusz Grabian, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Engineering, MUS, Bogusz Wiśnicki, Vice-Dean for part-time studies at the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering, Bożena Gorzkiewicz and Ewa Zamojska - Kosciów from the Faculty of Health Sciences PUM and Michał Twardochleb, President of the Association of Friends of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (ZUT) in Szczecin.

As a part of the meeting, Dorota Idziaszczyk, a substantive consultant of ‘Ordo Ex Chao,’ introduced the subject of intellectual property protection. The presentation was conducted with particular emphasis on students’ creativity and inventiveness. Then was presented a feature film dedicated to reverse engineering followed by a discussion on ethical and legal boundaries of actions presented in the film, guided by the tutors of ‘Ordo Ex Chao’ Club, Leszek Chybowski and Dorota Idziaszczyk. The next part of the meeting was refreshments organized by the club, partly financed from the fund of the Dean of the Faculty of Marine Engineering, Maritime University of Szczecin.

The intention of ‘Ordo ex Chao’ Club is to regularly organize such events integrating the student population, and moreover, the Club is planning to organize a university-wide seminar on cognitive sciences, which shall be conducted by experts from the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.
