Sustainable Transport Development Day was held at the Faculty of Engineering and Economics of Transport on 22nd May. Its purpose was to familiarize students with basic issues concerning the idea of sustainable transport and demonstrate the necessity of appropriate measures in that scope.
During the event, a series of lectures were given by employees of the Faculty: Wojciech Konicki, PhD. Eng., Agnieszka Deja, PhD. Eng., and Krystian Pietrzak, MSc Eng.
Prof. Russel G. Thompson from the University of Melbourne delivered a guest-speech. A lecture on safety in traffic was given by Jr. Insp. Grzegorz Sudakow, the head of the Road Traffic Department in Szczecin.
The results of a competition for a slogan/poster promoting the idea of sustainable development were also announced:
1st prize: Wojciech Jaworski
2nd prize: Paulina Oczkowicz
3rd prize: Alicja Lewczuk
Awards: Sara Mazur and Magdalena Kropidłowska
The students had also the opportunity to observe an electronic police car and use an overturn simulator provided by the Voivodeship Training Centre for Drivers in Szczecin.
