The Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin conducted by Sylwia Fabiańczyk-Makuch took part, last week (13-18.09), in the 6th International Choral Competition "CANÇÒ MEDITERRÀNIA" in Lloret de Mar/Barcelona. The Szczecin ensemble, following a fierce fight, won the highest distinctions: three Gold Diplomas in the categories of sacred, folklore and pop music.

The participants of the festival were 22 award-winning ensembles from 10 European countries (e.g. Estonia, Island, Italy, Slovenia, Ukraine and Poland). A special distinction for the ensemble was an invitation from the Consul of the Republic of Poland to take part in a concert in the Barcelona Cathedral. The choir was received enthusiastically by the audience and was honoured with a special diploma for promotion of Polish culture in the world.

The Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin has recently been awarded both in Poland - in Legnica and Międzyzdroje, as well as abroad: in April they achieved a huge success in Bratislava. The visit to Barcelona and Lloret de Mar was another opportunity for us to be proud of the success of the Szczecin choir.
