On 22 June 2011 in the Hall of Tradition MU of Szczecin, Prof. Stanislaw Gucma - the Rector signed a package of agreements (the fixing and preliminary license ones), thus starting the process of commercialization of the invention of a team of scientists led by Prof. Zbigniew Pietrzykowski: "Method and system of a navigational decision support in the safe operation of a floating object '(patent P.389638).

This is the first such package of agreements prepared within the newly formed Centre for Technology Transfer at the Maritime University of Szczecin. The next stage will be a process called pre-incubation, together with the Polish Foundation for Enterprise in the POMERANUS SEED - Seed Capital Fund, hopefully resulting in the establishment of a commercial company dealing with the industrial commercialization of patented technologies.
