ENEA Operator sp. z o.o. and Maritime University of Szczecin took a decision on their cooperation as a part of innovative as well as research and development undertakings.

The business and scientific partnership was sealed with a letter of intent, which was signed on 9th October at Maritime University of Szczecin by:
  • Enea Operator Sp. z o.o. represented by member of the Board of Enea Operator Sp. z o.o., Wojciech Drożdż, PhD, Professor of Szczecin University – Vice President for Innovation and Logistics,
  • the Maritime University of Szczecin represented by Wojciech Ślączka, PhD., Eng, Mater Mariner, Professor of MUS - the Rector of the Maritime University of Szczecin.

As the signatories of the understanding emphasised - cooperation is natural for either party. The Maritime University of Szczecin meets the expectations of the economic and business surrounding of the university, whereas Enea Operator sp. z o.o. is interested in searching for scientific partners whose knowledge and research facilities enable improvement of solutions used by the company in its daily practice.

Acting together, both entities may apply for e.g. funds for innovation from the National Centre for Research and Development. During the scientific and business cooperation, the key element is commercialisation and implementation of the results of scientific work.

- Complex preparation of our joint projects will enable us to begin their immediate implementation - said President Wojciech Drożdż.

- Mutual cooperation is an opportunity for development for scientists, but also for students, especially in the context of choosing subjects for their master or doctoral theses - said Rector Wojciech Ślączka.

Research conducted for a commercial company may become a subject of multidimensional analyses.

The subjects undertaken jointly will definitely include e.g. maritime wind power engineering and off-shore wind farms. - We would like to be prepared for new opportunities which will open for the Polish power engineering industry in the years to come - emphasised the Rector.

The research facilities and the scientific experience of Maritime University scientists will enable cooperation with Enea also with regard to strictly on-shore solutions - creating innovative solutions we may jointly improve the functioning of the power network.

Enea Operator sp. z o.o. is responsible for distribution of electrical power. The company manages a power network of over 100 000 km, through which it supplies electrical power to almost 2.3 million receivers, connecting more than ten thousand new users to the network each year. The basic task of Enea Operator is providing customers with constant power supply of high quality parameters. The company, undertaking innovative initiatives, is guided by taking care of constant development and systematic improvement of its power lines and distributing devices, thus, becoming a modern distribution network operator.

The Maritime University of Szczecin educates highly qualified staff for maritime economy of Poland and the European Union in close connection with scientific research and development of innovative technologies in cooperation with the economy and society. The mission of University’s education is also reacting to the needs of its social surrounding, including the educational and labour market.
