The fourth edition of the competition for the Outstanding Teacher and Youth Tutor emerged winners of this year – one of them is our university employee, Przemysław Rajewski, PhD.

The objective of the competition, organized by Polish Federation of Engineering Association, NOT, is to identify outstanding teachers, mentors and allies of young people and promote their activities in the school and academic environment of our province. Students of Western Pomerania public universities, youth associations, scientific-technical clubs and university governments themselves declare their candidates by submitting their profiles and contribution to the teaching process of youth and students.

Przemysław Rajewski, PhD. Eng, in the previous term: 2008-2012 - Vice-Rector for Teaching, now Rector’s Plenipotentiary for the National Qualification Frameworks, the Head of the Marine Machines and Devices Department, Faculty of Marine Engineering, Maritime University of Szczecin.

In the contest he was awarded, among others, due to his activities as the Chairman of the AZS Student Sports Club for his contribution to the development of sports facilities, modernization of the sports hall and the support of the rowing section. As a guardian of research groups, he supported them both financially and organizationally. In the area of teaching and research he outlined the principles for using specialized laboratory base by students, and hence for the development of their passion for science.

In 2013 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. He also is the holder of other state and departmental awards - Gold and Silver Cross of Merit (2005, 1999), National Education Medal (2000) and Badge of Meritorious Sea Worker (1981; 2001).

The awards ceremony was held on 6 December 2013 in the building of the Centre for Teaching and Research Nanotechnology of the West Pomeranian University of Technology.
