The first ESABALT(Enhanced Situational Awareness to Improve Maritime Safety in the Baltic) project meeting was held in FGI, Masala near Helsinki on September 26th. The project is performed by partners from Finland Sweden and Poland.
The overall objective of ESABALT is to assess the feasibility of providing an enhanced situational awareness solution for all ships operating in the Baltic, including real-time maritime traffic monitoring and a marine environment observation system relevant for maritime transportation and accident prevention.
Maritime University of Szczecin is the partner of the project. In the meeting participated researcher Paweł Banaś from Faculty of Navigation. During the meeting the results of two first project work packages were presented and discussed as well as the future tasks were set.
