We concluded the 2024 MEWy competition "Trends and Visions for Offshore Wind Energy Development" and awarded the winners in both categories
The award ceremony took place on Friday, March 22, and was part of the "Renewable Energy Sources as an Opportunity for Sustainable Development of the Region" Conference at the Netto Arena Szczecin. The competition was summed up by MUS Vice Chancellor for Science Artur Bejger, DSc, Eng and Andrzej Wieczorek MSc, Eng. CMO - the representative of the Competition Committee.
1st place - Michal Wolter - Maritime University of Szczecin
2nd place - Aleksandra Wasilewska - University of Groningen
3rd place - Patrycja Paśniewska - Warsaw University of Technology.
Secondary School Students' category:
1st place - Adam Jachimowski and Szymon Krompewski - Agricultural Training Center School Complex in Swarożyno
2nd place - Oliwier Michalak, Kornel Olkowski, Kamil Bielecki - Technical School of Communications and Digital Multimedia in Szczecin
3rd place - Filip Wojsz, Marcel Ćwikła, Grzegorz Fajfer-Ciężki - Tadeusz Kościuszko School Complex in Łobez.
Representatives of the Maritime University of Szczecin presented the awards together with Director Mariusz Sikora of the Marshal's Office of the West Pomeranian Region - a committee member and co-organizer of the Competition. All finalists in the Competition were awarded virtual indexes to any of the chosen courses at the Maritime University of Szczecin.

Year after year, the Competition does not cease to surprise us. The ideas presented are truly impressive -said Prof. Bejger during the ceremony - the members of the Commission had difficulty in selecting the best three projects in each category - he assured the winners.
Houses made from wind turbine nacelle
Andrzej Wieczorek presented the most important issues from the projects that took part in the competition - including practical ideas for servicing wind farms, processing energy produced by offshore wind turbines, and even recycling used wind turbine components (for example - highly developed concept of manufacturing houses from turbine nacelles were presented!).The Winners
