The meeting was also attended by the Province Marshal, Olgierd Geblewicz, the MCN Director, Witold Jabłoński, Rector Wojciech Ślączka, DSc. Eng., Master Mariner, Professor of MUS and the Dean of the Faculty of Navigation, Paweł Zalewski, DSc. Eng., Chief Officer, Professor of MUS. The Dean is also the chairman of the Maritime Science Center (MCN) Programme Council.   

- I am glad that the Maritime University of Szczecin, together with other universities, is involved in this project, which is so important for the city and the region, reflecting our local character - said Rector Wojciech Ślączka while welcoming the guests.
The interactive exhibits will be the heart of the Maritime Science Centre, this will enable the visitors to conduct experiments themselves. Additional elements of the exhibition will be original objects as well as parts of vessels and their equipment, models and mock-ups as well as maritime souvenirs.
The sea will be the main theme of the Centre as a subject that allows an attractive presentation of the issues within the scope of e.g. physics, mathematics, astronomy, geography, medicine, technology, ecology, sociology, history or culture.

- Presentation of various phenomena based on examples related to navigation, waves, wind, fishing or port life will make this facility unique in Europe and in the world - said Piotr Kossobudzki responsible for the artistic concept of the permanent exhibition.

- I am really glad that the Maritime Science Centre will have a maritime spirit and will be a tale about the maritime history of our region. The concept of Professor Stelmach is becoming real after so many years. I’d like to express my thanks to the whole community for their involvement and work on the exhibition - said the Province Marshal, Olgierd Geblewicz.
