On 27 March 2012 at the Faculty of Marine Engineering Maritime University was officially opened a computer lab simulator for tests and service of hydraulic systems. The inauguration was honored with the presence of the Rector, Chancellor and the Dean of the FME of the University of Szczecin. The newly opened modern laboratory contains 8 computer workstations equipped with software Automation Studio by Famic Canadian Company.
This is a unique software package for design, simulation and animation of complex mechatronic systems applicable in the field of hydraulics and automation. Included in the program packages represent a group of elements used in industry such as hydraulics, proportional hydraulics, pneumatics, power electronics, digital technology.
The newly established laboratory at the Faculty of Marine Engineering, thanks to the simulation of the work of the designed hydraulic systems, will enable students to broaden their theoretical and practical knowledge in design, will also check their effectiveness and efficiency and rationalization of ideas. It will result in the acquisition of skills of operating hydraulic equipment such as steering engines, remote control valves and onboard hydraulic equipment.
