On 26.11.2013 in the sports hall of the Maritime University of Szczecin were held traditionally organized championships in rowing ergometer, which was attended by academics, students, gymnasium and high school students.
After the opening by Vice-Rector for Education, Piotr Treichel who at the same time has become a newly elected President of the University Club, races of pupils in the category of girls and boys were held. At a distance of 500m competed 20 pupils, of whom the top three in both categories received medals, diplomas and awards; each student taking part in the contest received gadgets promoting our University.The next competition was academics race at a distance of 1,000m, representing each of the Maritime University Faculties. The Faculty of Marine Engineering was represented by Gregorz Nicewicz and Marcin Matuszak, the Faculty of WIET: by Arkadiusz Rzeczycki and Artur Kujawski, and the Faculty of Navigation: Marcin Breitsprecher. In the individual classification the best was the Dean Gregorz Nicewicz, reaching the time of 3:27,6, the second place took Marcin Matuszak (3:37,2), and the third was Arkadiusz Rzeczycki (3:51,2). Thus, the Cup again went to the room of the Dean of the Faculty of Marine Engineering, the second went to WIET, and third place took the Faculty of Navigation, supported by the Dean Jacek Frydecki, Master Mariner. Next the rivalry was commenced by the MUS female students, who at a distance of 1,000 meters showed their commitment when achieving very good results. The winner was Izabela Kaminska with the time of 3:52,8, the second place took Sylwia Straczuk (3:59,4), and the third position occupied Magdalena Zdeb (4:00,0).
The final competition was the race of students in the category of light and normal weight. After seven races in lightweight the winner was Vitalii Budzul (3:13,3), the second was Krzysztof Pańcyk (3:18,7) and the third Lukasz Nazimek (3:24,5). In normal weight the best player managed to ‘break’ the time of 3 minutes which is a great achievement. It was Ferdynand Kaczynski and his time was 2:59,7, the second place took Jan Kucera (3:03,1), and the third was Konrad Napieralski (3:05,9).
