On 22-24.07.2010 the Vice Rector for Education, Przemysław Rajewski, PhD, as a member of the West Pomeranian Province delegation, paid a visit to the District of the Kaliningrad Russian Federation. Our region representatives, headed by Władysław Husejko, the Marshal of the Province, were invited to the District of Kaliningrad by its governor, Georgij Boos.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss and make constructive decisions about further cooperation between the West Pomeranian Province and the District of Kaliningrad.
The Marshal, Władysław Husejko, emphasized the common actions in the fields of economy, education and sports, pointing out the long lasting and fruitful cooperation between the Maritime University of Szczecin, the State Baltic University and the Kaliningrad State University of Technology.
Przemysław Rajewski, the Vice Rector for Education, when speaking about the cooperation, pointed out common conferences, scientific and research projects, successful results and looking forward to further cooperation, invited Mr. Georgij Boos, the governor, to the opening ceremony of the 1st International Seminar „Create a Network of Centers of Excellence for Maritime Training", that will be held on 1-2.10.2010, as well as, the inauguration of the 2010/2011 academic year at the Maritime University of Szczecin.
Mr. Husejko underlined that good cooperation of the regions affects better relations between our countries and that is so due to the Plan of Cooperation for 2009-2010 signed by the West Pomeranian Province and the District of Kaliningrad on 07.10.2004.
Moreover, the delegation attended meetings at the Baltic State University, Kaliningrad State University of Technology and the Sea Port, where the presentation of the port of Kaliningrad was carried out.
