Representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering of the Maritime University of Szczecin and Vitronic Machine Vision Polska sp. z o.o. have officially signed a cooperation agreement.

The meeting between Vitronic Polska and Maritime University of Szczecin. was held in Szczecin on Friday, 8th December 2017. Until now, the company and the faculty have been supportive to each other, ensuring, on one hand, the transfer of practical information and, on the other hand, the exchange of knowledge and scientific experience.

- Upon invitation of the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering of Transport, we have held a number of meetings and lectures with MUS students, showing them in practice how the latest technologies are used in road traffic measurement work - says Michał Żuchora, President of Vitronic Polska.

One of the latest pieces of equipment produced by Vitronic, owned also by the Maritime University of Szczecin, is PoliScan laser system - a multiple lane scanner that allows continuous road monitoring and obtaining information on all vehicles visible for the device, which facilitates keeping record of all events on the road.

Currently, the Maritime University of Szczecin is the only university in Poland with such a modern device. - Practical information is of key importance for our educational process - ensures the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering of Transport, Stanisław Iwan, PhD., Professor of MUS - The latest technologies are the essence of development of the transport industry, whereas cooperation with its representatives enables us to constantly update our knowledge based on market experience - he added.

In response to the needs of this dynamic market, students at the Faculty of Economics and Engineering of Transport will soon be able to choose the specialisation of Intelligent Transport Systems.

The meeting with the representatives of Vitronic and entering into an official cooperation will give a new character and speed to our activities. It is important for us to support education of future staff because graduates who have had contact with the company are ready to start working for us - adds Michał Żuchora.
