The Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities of Technology (KRPUT) was held in the period 6-10 June 2016 in Szczecin. This year the organiser of the meeting was the Maritime University of Szczecin and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. The conference plenary sessions were held at the Maritime University of Szczecin.
The main points of the June plenary sessions included the selection of new KRPUT authorities. Professor Tadeusz Słomka, PhD, Eng., Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, was elected the President of the Conference for the 2016-2020 term of office.
The following people were elected Vice-Presidents of KRPUT: Professor Tomasz Łodygowski, PhD, Eng., Rector of the Poznan University of Technology, Professor Marek Tukiendorf, PhD, Eng., Rector of the Opole University of Technology, Professor Jacek Namieśnik, PhD, Eng., Rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology.
The previous President of KRPUT, Rector of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Professor Tadeusz Więckowski, PhD, Eng., was appointed the Honorary President of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities of Technology for the subsequent term of office.
KRPUT is a voluntary association of rectors representing Polish Universities of Technology. The decision on inclusion of a university into the group of technical universities is made based on the rights to confer the scientific degree of a doctor within the scope of technical sciences at least at one faculty or equivalent rights. Currently, KRPUT consists of twenty-one member universities and there are six universities associated with KRPUT.
