In Szczecin, 16-17 May, deliberations of the Parliamentary Committee on Innovation and New Technology were held.
The first day of meetings was organized in the Senate Hall of the Maritime University of Szczecin. The committee members viewed simulators and laboratories and learned about the innovative projects undertaken by our university.
The objective of the MPs visit was to watch innovative investments and projects in our city. On behalf of the Maritime University in the commission deliberations participated: Prof. Stanislaw Gucma - Rector of the Maritime University of Szczecin, Andrzej Bak, PhD - Vice-Rector for Maritime Affairs and Cezary Behrendt, PhD, - Director of the Institute of Marine Power Plant Operation.
On the first day of the conference the guests had the opportunity to visit our school. At the Faculty of Navigation they had a chance to visit, among others, European LNG Training Centre, Centre for Marine Traffic Engineering, DP simulator, ECDIS and inland ship simulators, whereas at the Faculty of Marine Engineering they saw Faculty Research Laboratory, Marine Power Plant Simulator, Laboratory of Marine Power Plants and High Voltage Laboratory. They went on board the m/s ‘Navigator XXI’. They were all impressed with the modern facilities and university projects from EU funds.
MPs met also with the city of Szczecin authorities and the entrepreneurs. The next day the deliberations of the committee took place in the Session Hall of the City Council.
