The end of the calendar year is the time of struggling for many sports sections. After the ergo-meter competition, it was the time to select the best table tennis players.


The arena of the championships held on 02.12.2010 became the sports hall of the Maritime University at Waly Chrobrego.  In the championships, organized by the Board of the MU Club, competed 20 male and female contestants in four groups of five. The best two persons of each group joined the cup stage. The novelty play – off system gave the rostrum chance even to those who lost their first match.

After two hours of fierce play, the female champion of the Maritime University of Szczecin became the favorite to win, Magdalena Firlej, who also turned out unbeatable in the open category, defeating all of the gentlemen!

Classification of the best female students:

  2. Ewelina Ekalt
  3. Anna Łukasiewicz

Male competition was eve stiffer, since the last year open category winner, Adam Tomczyk, fought till the last ball against this year black horse, Piotr Ławniczak, who eventually became the winner and the holder of the honorable title of the Maritime University Master.
