Premises of the former Complex of Technical and Maritime Secondary Schools in Szczecin have become the property of the Maritime University of Szczecin.
The act of sale of real property at Willowa 2 street was concluded in the form of a notarial deed on 18/12/2014. Maritime University of Szczecin purchased the premises for 1 percent of its market value. The purchase will foster further development of the University’s research activity. The notarial deed was signed by: Prof. DSc. PhD. Eng. Master Mariner Stanisław Gucma, Rector of the Maritime University of Szczecin and Mariusz Kądziołka, vice mayor of Szczecin. In response to its official request, the University was offered land property with an area of 22945 square meters comprising: buildings for teaching purposes, a workshop building, a sports hall, a transformer station, a cutting room, a switchboard, a forge, a shelter and a gatehouse.
The value of the whole property was assessed by an external expert at approximately PLN 12M. In April 2014 members of Szczecin city council reached an agreement on selling the property with a 99% discount i.e. for the amount of PLN 120 000.
