April 15, 2011, the Maritime University of Szczecin and the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture have signed a grant agreement for the project entitled. "Reducing fuel consumption and the toxicity of exhaust gases of fishing boats engines’. Project implemented by the University is co-financed by the European Union under the European Fisheries Fund. The Project manager and its author is Professor Oleh Klyus.
The project objective is the development guidelines and implementation of a mobile workshop for the use of a catalytic and turbulizational treatment of marine fuel and its mixtures with fuels of vegetable origin in reference to the content of the seawater in cutter and fishing boat engines.
The strategic goals of the project are:
- Reducing fuel consumption on board cutters and fishing boats.
- Reducing emissions of toxic compounds in exhaust gases of fishing vessel engines.
Project duration: from June 2010 to May 2012
