- Creating the technical infrastructure that allows launching open, publicly available Internet Access Points using WiFi wireless network - the so-called Hotspots. The coverage will be publicly accessible areas of all buildings at the Maritime University of Szczecin and Swinoujscie. Additionally, the network will cover the area directly adjacent to the college buildings.
- Creation of Public Internet Access Points in the form of so-called Multimedia kiosks or self-contained, Internet-connected computer workstations available to all of the following locations:
- the Main Building, ul. Wały Chrobrego 1-2, Szczecin,
- the Faculty of Marine Engineering, ul. Podgórna 51, Szczecin,
- the Student House “Passat” ul. Starzyńskiego 9; Szczecin,
- the Maritime Rescue Training Center, ul. Ludowa 8 (Dębogórska) Szczecin,
- the MUS premises at ul. H. Poboznego 11, Szczecin,
- the Department of Navigation, ul. Zolnierska 46, Szczecin,
- the Marine Training Centre and House of Creative Work, ul. Komandorska 5, 5a, Swinoujscie,
- the Marine Officers’ Training Center, ul. Szczerbcowa 4; Szczecin;
Maritime University of Szczecin shall receive a subsidy of 1 731 158.50 PLN, which is the highest amount awarded among Szczecin universities whose projects are eligible for support.
Starting work on the project is scheduled immediately after the signing of the Agreement, and the project will be completed in 2013.
Agreement on the financing of the project was signed at the headquarters of the Maritime University of Szczecin on 4 November (Friday) 2011 at 12.30
Signatories to the Agreement are Marshal of the West Pomeranian Province - Olgierd Geblewicz and Rector of the Maritime University of Szczecin - Prof. Stanislaw Gucma, Master Mariner.
The meeting was attended by Olgierd Geblewicz - Marshal of the West Pomeranian Province, Andrzej Jakubowski - Deputy Marshal of the West Pomeranian Province, whereas on behalf of the Maritime University of Szczecin – the Rector, Prof. Stanislaw Gucma, Master Mariner and Dorota Zujewska - Kozak - Treasurer of the Maritime University of Szczecin.
Project Manager is the Manager of Academic Information Centre - Lukasz Warlikowski.
