On 19th May 2016, as a part of the Juwenalia Student Festival, sport games were held for the Maritime University Students.
The University Club of the Academic Sport Association organised an inter-faculty basketball, volleyball and football tournament traditionally named “Marinalia”, as in previous years. Students, representatives of Maritime University faculties, played matches in the “all-play-all” system in previously mentioned disciplines. The Faculty of Navigation was unequalled in basketball, clearly outplaying the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering.
In volleyball the situation was different. Here, it was the Faculty of Marine Engineering that presented itself from the best side, whereas the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering fought an even battle with the Faculty of Navigation. The conclusive event was, thus, the football match. All faculties were fighting fiercely, but, eventually, the winner was the Faculty of Navigation and they were the ones who became the champions of “Marinalia” 2016. The second place went to the Marine Engineers and the third to the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering. Congratulations for students for their high level of skills, involvement and “fair play”.
