The first International Maritime Congress will be the first event of its kind in Poland. For three days Szczecin shall be the sea capital of the world. The city will be visited by those playing the major role in the maritime industry to start cooperation and set a new trend for the industry, which brings with it enormous potential. The event will be held on 13-15 June 2013.

The organizer of the congress is looking for volunteers.

In return we offer:

  • The volunteer will have the opportunity to gain experience in organizing international events. This experience will be confirmed by a special certificate received after the congress.
  • The volunteer will also be able to participate in discussion panels for free (if they do not interfere with the performance of volunteer’s job).
  • During the entire day of work the volunteers will have the catering provided (coffee breaks and lunch)

About the Congress

The three-day congress program divided into blocks and panel discussions will address issues such as: the current state of the Polish maritime economy, the integration of maritime transport, the use of marine resources and the science for the sea. In addition to the main program of the congress will be held side events, such as the reactivation of the statutory activities of the Polish Association of Maritime Law or a meeting of maritime clusters in the Baltic Sea area.
It is estimated that the congress will be attended by about 750 people. Representatives of national and international organizations involved in maritime industry have already announced their presentations. This includes, among others, Marc Huybrechts - President of the European Organization for Freight Forwarders and Logisticians, Philippe Alfonso of the European Transport Workers’ Federation, Janusz Piechociński, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Stanislaw Gawłowski, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Environment, Marek Kolbowicz - rower, four-time world champion, Olympic champion of the Olympic Games in Beijing and Members of the European Parliament: Prof. Boguslaw Liberadzki,, Marek Gróbarczyk, Jaroslaw Walesa.
