Today, in the main office of Autocomp Management Sp. z o.o., Krzysztof Hładyszewski, the CEO of the company, and Konrad Frontczak, the CEO of Centrum Innowacji Akademii Morskiej w Szczecinie Sp. z o.o. (MUS Innovation Centre Ltd) signed an agreement on granting Autocomp three licences for PNDS that encompass applying the system in, inter alia, sea harbours.
Pilot Navigation and Docking System (PNDS) is a device designed by academics from the Maritime University of Szczecin which allows defining in real time accurate distance and angle of the ship side in relation to the quay. This is highly significant during the last phase of mooring. Large weight of tankers or ferries may result in the ship or the quay being damaged in case a mistake is made during the manoeuvring. Moreover, transport of liquid natural gas is connected with higher risk of fire or explosion.
Compared to its competition, PNDS is the most accurate device and its measurement error is constant. Alternative solutions do not provide sound functional stability.
Autocomp Managemnet Sp. z o.o. is planning to implement the system in European harbours.
