Launch of recruitment for a foreign internship for the 2nd and 3rd year regular students of mechanics and machine construction and mechatronics that are members of a project entitled ‘Ordered Directions’ - Mechatronics and Mechanics and Machine Construction, Maritime University of Szczecin. 10 internships places have been offered.
The main criteria for selection of candidates:
- The arithmetic average of the exams and credits of the 1st and 2nd semesters (the second year) and 1st -4th (for the third year of study);
- A good command of a foreign language (or languages) at a minimum level B2 of the Council of Europe’s language proficiency. Benefits for the successful trainees: 3135 PLN gross, working with trained staff in different areas of the marine industry; acquiring experience in an international environment; learning practical operation of large and small businesses;
- establishing valuable contacts, and in case your testimonial during the internship is positive, after graduation it maight be your place of work;
- you shall master a foreign language;
- you will get acquainted with and experience the culture of the country you shall be staying in The competition takes place in three stages: Step 1 – Submission of documents and going through formal verification Step 2 – Creating a ranking list Step 3 - Selection of a candidate to the company and the creation of a reserve (a candidate can offer the same foreign company which has expressed its willingness to accept him for an internship with a letter of intent)
If you want to participate in the competition:
- Get acquainted with Regulations on Recruitment and Participation in Foreign Internships under the ‘ORDERED DIRECTIONS’ - Mechatronics and Mechanics and Machine Construction at the Maritime University of Szczecin dated 29 June 2012;
- Complete and sign an application form (download the package for your year of study);
- Submit a copy of the certificate of a foreign language (bring the original copy to be inspected) or a certificate of proficiency level issued by a language school which has the right to conduct external examinations. Note: the minimum level of language proficiency is B2.
- Submit a completed certificate, signed by the Vice-Dean for part-time studies and practices, Grzegorz Nicewicz, PhD, stating that a foreign internship does not interfere with the practices set out by the MUS curriculum; Before the competition you need to know that:
- A certificate of proficiency level in a foreign language is likely to be paid for (about 50 PLN);
- You may have to put your money as a deposit for the accommodation (it depends on the customs of the country, MUS has no impact)
- You will have to organize your own transport insurance, and accommodation (you may get assistance from the coordinator for international internships)
- Deadline for documents submission to Step 1 is 08.03.2013, till 15.00;

NOTE: The first-year students can not apply for this academic year! Students who have already completed an internship are also excluded from the recruitment.
