Admission is being opened for full time students in their third year of Mechatronics and Marine Mechanical Engineering who participate in the project KIERUNKI ZAMAWIANE (Commissioned Fields of Study - Mechatronics and Marine Mechanical Engineering in the Maritime University of Szczecin).
The candidates will be assessed against the following admission criteria:
- arithmetic mean value from all examinations and end-of-semester marks from semesters 1-4
- proficiency in foreign language (or foreign languages) on the level of at least B2 according to the Council of Europe’s Common Reference Levels: global scale
Students admitted to the internship programme will enjoy the following benefits:
- receiving financial support
- having the possibility to work with qualified staff from various fields of maritime sector,
- obtaining work experience in an international environment
- acquiring backstage knowledge on functioning of small and medium sized businesses
- making valuable contacts, possibly being made an employment offer on the condition of good performance during the placement
- increasing language skills
- experiencing a different culture during the stay in a given country.
The competition shall have 3 phases:
Phase 1 – submitting the documents listed below and their formal verification
Phase 2 – compiling a ranking list
Phase 3 – matching candidates with target companies and compiling reserve lists (candidate him/herself may propose a foreign company who expressed willingness to host his/her placement through a letter of intent).
To enter the competition:
- please read the Regulations on admissions and participation in International Internships within the project “KIERUNKI ZAMAWIANE - Commissioned Fields of Study - Mechatronics and Marine Mechanical Engineering in the Maritime University of Szczecin“ dated 29 June 2012.
- fill in, sign and submit the Application form
- submit a copy of language certificate (the original will be needed for verification) or proficiency level certificate issued by a language school authorized to hold external language examinations. Remember: the minimum language proficiency level is B2.
- submit a confirmation document stating that the work placement will not affect work placement resulting from curriculum at MUS – the document should be filled in by the candidate and signed by Vice-Dean for Part-time studies and placements, Mr Grzegorz Nicewicz, Phd.
Before taking the decision to enter the competition, the following should be taken into account:
- there will most probably be a charge involved for obtaining a proficiency level certificate issued by a language school (ca. PLN 50,00)
- you may have to invest your own money as an accommodation guarantee deposit (depending on country-specific standards, this issue is beyond the capacity of MUS)
- you will solely be responsible for organizing your own transport, insurance and accommodation (International Internships Coordinator will provide you with support in this area)
The deadline for submitting Phase 1 admission documents is set on 21 March at 2.00 pm.
The documents should be submitted to room No 24.

Important notice: 4th year students may not participate in the competition. Similarly, the students who have already completed a placement are not admissible into the competition.
