In summer 2012, the best students of the Faculty of Marine Engineering, Maritime University of Szczecin, will go on one month long international internships. Each student will receive more than three thousand PLN and gain valuable experience.
MUS has raised the money for students’ trips from European funds, which shall allow 20 students to upgrade their skills, practice a foreign language and get acquainted with another culture. The companies take advantage of accepting students on an internship, since it also means that the companies gain the best engineers working for them.
The internships are carried out within a larger project, which provides 1000 PLN scholarships and specialized courses for the best students of the Faculty of Marine Engineering. Students who need additional support in mathematics and physics can rely on individual support programs. The main objective of the project is to make studies in mechanical engineering and mechatronics more attractive. The Project effects have already been visible. In the academic year 2011/2012 the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, MUS, recruited a record number of over 200 students.
The value of the whole project is over 5 million PLN. Its completion is planned for June 2015
