The candidates' training, which started already in the second half of July, lasted until 22nd September and, traditionally, was a period of intensive work both for the administration and the teachers responsible for the course.
Employees of the Marine Rescue Training Centre made all the efforts to provide the course participants with the highest quality of training, security, assistance within the scope of settling the first university matters and, above all, ensure a friendly atmosphere in the centre.
The trainers of the course: “Survival at Sea” had an opportunity to participate together with employees of the Customs Office in a joint hands-on exercise on the following transfers: boat-boat, boat-shore, shore-boat. This enabled the participants to build on the experience they already had and gain a wider insight into the difficulties and dangers, especially those related to transferring from one boat into the other while on the move.

In August, employees of the Marine Rescue Training Centre conducting Global Wind Organization training, in accordance with the recommendations of this organization, got acquainted with the construction of another type of turbine. Visits in turbines provide a possibility of understanding better the difficulties and dangers which my occur in the event of fire, the need of evacuation, rescue as well as all kinds of injuries and accidents.

Continuous improvement for the employees of the Marine Rescue Training Centre through acquiring of new experience not only brings benefits as regards the security of the conducted trainings but also enables entering into cooperation with new entities. On 27th September, the Marine Rescue Training Centre conducted a training for the Post-Secondary Maritime School the aim of which was to acquaint students with numerous aspects of working at height, moving on a ladder and transfers: shore-boat, boat-shore (dangers, regulations, PPE, methods of minimizing risk). The conducted training and their positive reception by the participants allow us to expect there will be further trainings for the PSM School on subjects beyond the STCW standards.
