Not only UM, but also other university students and staff will benefit from the projects worth over 6.5 million PLN.
The first one entitled “Development and promotion of the technical fields at the Maritime University of Szczecin” deals with starting Mechatronic, a new field of study at the Marine Engineering Faculty. For that reason the MU shall purchase two up-to-date laboratories of robotics and power electronics as well as software worth over 400 000 PLN. For all students who will find it necessary there will be compensatory classes of Mathematics and Physics available and the MU Career Office will offer attractive trainings. The studies will be free of charge.
The second project, “FULL AHEAD! Development of a new study field at the Navigational Faculty as well as the promotion of marine professions” assumes starting a new study field INFORMATICS at the Faculty of Navigation. For both regular and extramural students getting support within this project the studies will also be totally free of charge. Moreover, as a part of the project, a modern computer room shall be purchased with up-to-date software. But that’s not all. The project shall cover the University staff, mainly Navigational Faculty teachers, raising their English language skills which will contribute to extending the number of classes taught in English. Apart from that a various trainings for people willing to work at sea are expected, which means a great opportunity for those looking for a well paid job offered by marine related branches. Recruitment for both Mechatronics and Informatics shall commence as soon as in spring.
