The Day of the School was restored by the Senate of the Maritime University in 2011. Its celebrations were launched at the State Maritime School in Szczecin, the precursor of marine education in our city. This day used to be celebrated in the former PSM-building from 28 April 1948, when the school was given a completely renovated building at Al. Piastow 19.

It was there that the first born ‘sea dogs’ acquired their knowledge and developed their characters. Remembering maritime traditions brought to life a new tradition - the award of prizes during the celebration of ‘Sea Dogs’ ceremony.
