On 21.05.2010, there will be held Maritime Conference-Seminar devoted to the Republic of Poland’s maritime policy organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure in cooperation with the Maritime University of Szczecin. The conference is the key point of celebrating the European Maritime Day (EMD) in Szczecin from 20-22.05.2010.
In Poland, since 2008, when the European Commission, European Parliament and European Union Council established EMD by their Common Trilateral Declaration, the day has been celebrated every year.
- 09.00 – 09.30 – Accreditation of the conference members ( Maritime University building at Szczerbcowa 4, hall nr 7)
- 09.30 – Opening of the seminar by the Rector of the Maritime University of Szczecin Prof. Stanisław Gucma, Master Mariner.
- 09.40 – „Maritime policy of the Republic of Poland in the works on the development strategy of the country” - Anna Wypych-Namiotko, Vice-chairwoman of the Interdepartmental Group for maritime policy of the Republic of Poland, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
- 10.00 – „The EU’s Integrated Maritime Policy and the EU’s Maritime Transport Strategy until 2018” Torsten Klimke – representative of the Directorate General - the European Commission for Mobility and Transport.
- 10.20 – 10.40 – coffee break
- 10.40 – 11.50 – Speakers:
- Konstanty Oświęcimski, chairman of the Parliamentary Group for Maritime Economy,
- Władysław Husejko, Marshal of the West Pomerania Province,
- Marcin Zydorowicz, Provincial Governor of the West Pomerania Province,

- 12.15 – Closing of the Seminar, performance of the choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin
The conference will be attended by representatives of state, regional and local authorities, academic and scientific societies, social and out-of-government organizations as well as members of European Commission. The conference will contribute to proper defining as well as emphasizing the place of RP maritime policy in the state development management system.
