Diacoustic Systems is an entity that will launch the technology produced at our university - a device for the diagnosis of Diesel engines injection systems.
The author of the technology is the Vice-Rector for Science of the Maritime University of Szczecin, Artur Bejger, PhD, an employee of the Chair of Machine Diagnosis and Repairs, The objective of the innovative diagnostic method is primarily to ensure the efficiency of the vessels’ propulsion system as well as real savings for the shipowners.
On January 23 2014, a partnership agreement was signed by the presidents of the Centre for Innovation, Maritime University of Szczecin Ltd. and the Polish Entrepreneurs Foundation (PFP). The funds, invested by PFP, come from the Fund Seed Capital POMERANUS SEED. Our business partner in the venture is a private investor who also, within the first months, will take the position of the president of the new company board.
Diacoustic Systems is another company established in order to commercialize the University Industrial Property (but the first one to make use of the MUS Center for Innovation - www.innoam.pl). Negotiations and preparations of the investment process were long and complex and therefore we want to thank all those who contributed to the project’s final success.
Commercialization of scientific ideas in the conditions of the Polish legal system is difficult and requires courageous decisions, which our university authorities have decided to make. Soon, we shall be undertaking new initiatives aiming at commercializing the results of research conducted at the university.
